Franklin Main Street property auctioned for $696,300

Two parcels surrounding Dotson’s Restaurant on East Main Street were sold by McLemore Auction Company at absolute auction Thursday morning for a bid of $633,000 to Franklin developer Preston Ingram. With a 10% buyer’s premium, the total contract price came to $696,300.

Ingram did not attend the auction, but submitted his bid via telephone. A representative of the company under which he purchased the land, Crossfire Development, also was on-hand to sign a purchase contract and provide a 10 percent down payment. In accordance with the terms of the auction, Crossfire Development has until Sept. 24 to close.
