Estate of Hal Reed Ramer


Dr. Hal Ramer - Courtesy of Volunteer State Community CollegeMcLemore Auction Company, LLC was hired to carry out an auction of personal property belonging to Dr. Hal Ramer to settle Dr. Ramer's estate.  Dr. Ramer is best remembered as the founding president of Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, Tennessee.  He served as president of that institution from its founding in 1970 until his retirement in 2003.  At the time of his retirement he was the longest serving president of any college or university in the United States. 

Dr. Ramer was an avid collector of art, books, and antiques.  Over the years, he accumulated many unique and interesting pieces of furniture and home furnishings.  This auction included many items from Dr. Ramer's home and office all of which sold to the highest bidder.
